She worked for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Cairns from 2007 until 2017.\n\nShe established the Stratford Medical Centre with the aim to support comprehensive GP specialist health care to her community. Her passion for the disadvantaged resulted in the creation of the WoW (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wow.org.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" style=\"color: blue; text-decoration: underline;\">Wheels of Wellness<\/a><\/strong>) program, which provides health care solution to marginalised groups through mobile health services in the Cairns region. She was the recipient of the Cairns Small Business Award in 2016 for her contribution to health services and the success for Stratford Medical Centre. Dr Roberts was a finalist in the James Cook University of business excellence for her community contribution. She was also a finalist in the Australian Institute of Management leadership in 2016. North Queensland PHN Health Professionals\u2019 awards 2018, finalist JCU Business Excellence Awards \u2013 social contribution. She was a Director of The Board of WOW until 2021.\n\nAmanda is a DAME (Designated CASA Medical Examiner). She also has a special interest in emergency medicine, community services, mental health, acute illness, business and community services\u2026 and everything in between.\n\nShe devotes her time between supervising and training GP Registrars and International Medical Graduates, provides clinical governance and risk management for the Stratford Medical Centre and was on the board of Cairns Hospital and Hinterland Health Service and volunteers her time as a public speaker on health and wellness topics.\n\nShe is mum to two adult children, a multitude of animals and is also a regular short and long-term foster carer.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-800bc0f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\"
